Andrew Virts

I lead the Marketing Technology team at YouVersion, the maker of the Bible App with over a billion installs. We reach people through email, push notifications, and other channels, and we build internal apps that help our marketing team scale.

Before that, I got to be in full-time youth ministry for about ten years, both in the church and with Young Life, in Florida and Louisiana. When God made it clear that season was over, I went through some coding boot camps and taught myself web development. I built client websites at a digital marketing agency. Then I joined Stuller as a web designer making campaign landing pages and emails, and was later promoted to software developer working on internal tools and MatrixGold, a desktop app written in C#/.NET.

On the side, I build things like a community top 25 poll for college football, an SEO-first Bible reader, an old-school turn-based RPG, and a handful of local directory sites. I write occasionally on my blog.
